Sarah Scott is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP).†† She received her Bachelor's degree from Creighton University in Omaha with a major in psychology and a co-major in creative writing.† She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of Nebraska Sarah has worked in the field of behavioral health for 11 years, both in inpatient and outpatient settings.† She has worked with a wide variety of diagnoses and problems, including depression and anxiety, severe and persistent mental illness, suicidal thoughts, crisis intervention, relapse prevention, post-traumatic stress disorder, and personality disorders.
Sarah has special experience working with the military population: active duty, dependents, and retirees.† She has been trained by the Department of Defense in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which aims to reduce the symptoms of PTSD.† Sarah hopes to continue serving military members and their families.
Sarah takes a wide-ranging approach to therapy, but most often utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Insight-Oriented Therapy.†† Sarah's future training goals include becoming certified in EMDR and Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapies.
